Professor Richard Oniangue, Director of the ISEPS of Brazzaville and Focal Point of the World Sports Alliance in Congo.
The children of Richard Oniangue informed us about the death of their father on January 12th, 2010. We met Richard on many occasions during conferences of the African Experts Group on Physical Education and Sports. Our meeting in Saly in November 2007 enabled consideration of the accession of the Republic of Congo to the World Sports Alliance and thereafter, he worked tirelessly to convince the Congolese authorities of the importance of Congo’s joining the Alliance. His professionalism and expertise were renown by everyone. His immense courtesy quickly transformed relationships into friendships. The World Sports Alliance has lost a friend and a highly skilled collaborator, and WSA’s Secretary General, Dr Gilles Klein, has lost a brother. The Alliance wishes to convey our condolences to his family and our assurance that his memory and contribution will be forever honored.
