The catastrophic earthquake of January 12th in Haiti has been a terrible ordeal for this WSA Member State with whom we have been working to build a better future for their youth.
In the hours following this event, we were able to contact Minister Evans Lesouflair and Valiollah Gilums. They briefed us on the severity of the earthquake and at the same time reassured us of their good health and that of all members of their families. They also reaffirmed their resolve to take part in the rebuilding of their country. We greet and applaud their immense dignity and perseverance.

We wish them continued courage and determination in the achievement of these goals. The World Sports Alliance will do its utmost to further the solidarity and rebuilding efforts. PPPs are presently being negotiated.
